Consolidated Liberator GR Mk.V BZ775/G crash on 29th August 1943

Liberator GR Mk. V BZ775/G took-off at 03.05 and crashed 30 seconds after take-off about 1 1/2 miles from end of runway. Aircraft was loaded by 2,300 gallons of petrol and 12 Depth Charges. After the impact Liberator caught fire and all Depth Charges exploded killing all crewmembers aboard:

Trade Name
Cpt F/O A. Musálek
2nd Pilot Sgt S. Jelínek
Nav F/Lt B. Babš
WOP/AG Sgt E. Blaháček
WOP/AG Sgt H. Polák
WOP/AG Sgt J. Rubín
AG F/O M. Čtvrtlík
AG Sgt V. Blahna

There is an interesting fact that standard WOP/AG of Musálek's crew F/Sgt J. Bajer missed the start. So he was replaced by Sgt E. Blaháček from crew of F/Sgt K. Kopal.

Thanks to that F/Sgt Bajer flew till August 1944 with Kopal's crew and he survived the war.
